The Stars Are Closer Than You Think
We offer high-altitude weather balloon memorials: a fully customizable ceremony in which cremated remains are placed inside a professional grade weather balloon and released into the stratosphere — into Near Space, nearly 100,000 feet above the earth — to be received by the sky and the winds.

Personal & Customizable
Every Halo Goodbye is created to be personal and memorable. Families may include readings, music, prayer, poetry, spiritual elements, or a simple moment of silence. The ceremony is designed to honor the unique life being remembered, and we work closely with each family to make it as personally meaningful as possible.
During the ceremony, the cremated remains are carefully placed in a specially prepared vessel within a high-altitude weather balloon. The balloon is then filled with lifting gas, and when the moment feels right, a chosen family member cuts the balloon string.
Once released, the balloon ascends gently upward, traveling high into the atmosphere. At high altitude, the balloon naturally expands and bursts, allowing the ashes to disperse into the open sky.

A Word About Our Environment
A common question: is this actually okay for the environment?
Yes. Our balloons are made from 100% natural latex — no PFAS, no petroleum additives, no artificial plastics. At stratospheric altitude, extreme cold and pressure cause the balloon to shatter into small fragments that fall back to Earth already degrading, completely degrading within 24-36 months, the same standard used by the National Weather Service.
Halo Goodbye deeply understands and shares the concerns for our irreplaceable Earth home, and has consciously chosen our materials and processes with this in mind.
We also believe that intentional moments of ceremony can help change the world by connecting humankind to something bigger than ourselves, to the cosmos, and to each other.
